Out of the comfort zone ….

May18

Every one has their own comfort zone. Basically a circle of things they are comfortable doing and type of problems they are comfortable facing or have faced before. The true metal of the person is determined when he is out of his comfort zone facing the unknown and tackling the fuck out of it.

Tackling the unknown is not as easy as it sounds. It requires patience and the drive to reach the end. Currently, it is semester end and the work load is just crazy. I have 3 exams and 1 presentation next week along with a 300 page assignment submission. This by no means is my comfort zone but Like we all know “You gotta do, what you gotta do ” .  As far as I know, I ll make it through. The question is will i sail through with flying colors or just drag my ass from start to the finish for the sake of it ?

Its all in the mind. I think i need to work on strict schedules, smaller sleep times and less leisure time. If i have any hopes of making it through. It has to be done and will be done. Somehow , any how !

Bullshit tolerance threshold

May7

Like we all know life is not all rainbows and butterflies. There are going to be a lot of bullshit thrown on you daily which you have no control over. It could be your boss, teacher or your compatriot who is being a bitch. Not everything goes our way all the time.

Everyone has their own bullshit tolerance threshold (BTT) . BTT in simpler terms can be defined as the amount of bullshit one can tolerate over the period of time. It is basically like a spring which is compressed over a period of time and one day is just let lose. Everyone is gonna breakdown at one point of time. The level of destruction is what varies from person to person.

Some folks are patient and have very high BTT where as some are impatient and break down straight away. There is not much you can do about it. You surely  feel pity for them though.

So at the end of the day, you don’t wanna push someone till that level or want to come close to someone who is almost gonna exceed the threshold. Either ways you are going to be at the losing end.

Damage Control Mode

April26

Somethings are always gonna go wrong, no matter how full proof your plan is. Its kind of funny to see how people deal with situations when everything is going wrong. Most of the people just crumble under the frustration and give up. This is usually followed by series of rounds of blaming others for why things went wrong. If nothing works, they’ll just resort to cursing their luck or life.

The interesting part is majority of people fail to go one step further and sit down and rationally solve the problem. I don’t get it how they fail to see that the situation is not gonna change if they keep cribbing about the problem. No one  can solve those problems better than you because noone knows the problem better than you do in the first place.

Problems are not usually solved instantly. Unfortunately, the problem solving process not only tricky but also very time consuming. Initially, the focus should not be merely on solving the problem but to reduce the current impacts of the problem until a effective solution is found. This is what I term damage control mode.  It does require a lot of patience and logical reasoning to be effective at it.

When everything is going wrong, I usually like to slow down the pace of everything around me. So i can catchup with what is going and take the required action.

Problems come and problems go. Its how you deal with them, that makes you who you are.

Money : The 5th element

April9

Its pretty astonishing how the importance and relevance of money has grown by many folds in the last 10 decades in the day to day lives of people. Money is more important than ever before.  Money is the answer of 90 % of problems of people today.

The funny thing is every one wants everything and to get everything, they need money. But seldom any one wants to work hard for it. They all want to get rich quick, very quick. These are the kind of people who learn the hard way that making money is not easy and is not done over night.

Another tricky thing is money itself is the best moneymaker. Once the principle gets bigger it eventually starts pulling money  to it, if invested correctly. It soon becomes a game of rolling this money at the right places at the rite time and reaping the rewards. According to me the whole game of getting wealthy involves  25 % working hard to make the initial money and 75 % getting that hard earned money to make money for you. Big money should never lie idle. It wouldn’t be wrong to say money sitting ideal is equivalent to losing money. All that money sitting there doing nothing  is losing its buying power due to evils like inflation. Invest, invest, invest. For example, I started my internet career with 45 $ and invested close 95 % of the amount back into the business for the first 6-7 months. This allowed me to grow by 1000% last year.  If you are not investing back what you are making, you are an idiot.

Money also instills a sense of confidence. A well off person is much more confident in his activities than a ahem-ahem person. A well off person is more confident in taking risk than the ahem-ahem person and like we all know what pays off the most is the riskiest. You can actually notice the difference in a well off person’s behavior. At the end of the day, money is a huge boost for your ego and confidence.

Money gets you respect. It kind of comes with being wealthy, people start taking you much more seriously. Its natural people are gonna take you much more seriously if you step out of a Bentley than a Toyota corrola.  People tend to pay more attention to what you are saying and tend to be nicer to you and you tend to find out that you have a lot more friends than you originally thought. Money is one powerful magnet. This by no ways mean that you become wealthy for others attention.

Wait, before I call it end I would like to point out the difference in being rich and wealthy.  Rich is equivalent to accumulating lot of money and nothing else. Being wealthy on the other hand is more about using the money to do things you want and being happy. If the money can’t help you be happy, its useless then.

So at the end, Money has pretty much evolved as the 5th element and the one who can tame it has involved as the greatest and the most powerful.  Make money, use it wisely and invest it even more wisely. There is a lot your money can do for you than you can do for yourself.  I’ll end it with a quote

” Get rich or die trying ” – 50 cent

What do I want and How bad do I want it ?

February27

Well I was reading this book by Napolean Hill named ‘ Think and Grow Rich ‘ . I got done with the first chapter where he highlighted that was really important to want something bad when you want to attain it. He said getting rich is possible but you just need to want it very bad. No matter what.  He used various examples at every point of the chapter to illustrate.

This made me think. When I started off with internet marketing i was much more dedicated and much more wanting because I knew what ever money i had to make was through my sites. I knew this was the only key to my ever broke life.

I worked my ass off initially to get that starting capital and buy sites and now I have a decent amount coming every month with little effort and hence i lazed down. Expansion is on pause . Lot of new plans with poor execution. The fire just might be fading away…..

Ok so what do i really want ?

I want passive 5 digits in dollars a month . I have 15 years to attain it and this year I am aiming for 100 % growth. If I do attain it, I fucking don’t need to worry about a day job because I think my sites can sustain me full time and that could be my launch pad for greater heights and attain the 5 digits a month mark.

I am adding a new site in my portfolio which is going to be worth my 2 months income and I hope It’ll add close to 20 % to my income levels. My biggest buy/investment.

I have lot of other projects that need some serious execution . If executed more $$$ at the end of the day.

How bad do I want it ?

Since I was born , I was a lazy guy. I was a easy go lucky guy. Hardly fussy about any thing and happy with my own self. I still am my own best company.  One man army you can say.

I don’t think I see my self designing planes or repairing planes at the end of the day. When I tell this to my mom , she freaks out and starts talking about the amount they’ve spent for me to complete my bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering . But this is what i feel.

I have wanted to make sites since i was like 10 years old. I’ve made my first ones with geocities and shit.  It took a while before I realized it but it all  came to together . Better late then never.

I see my self living in some sea facing apartment with a workstation with three big ass screens and living a life of luxury and hardly any work.  Probably traveling the globe.  The bottom line to attain that target is by 2026. If I could continue my current growth pace , I could attain it much earlier.

In short. I do want it. But is it as bad ? I don’t know. Probably.
